Today marks what was supposed to be my fourth day with no sugar. See photo above for my first sugar free meal on this attempt at being added sugar free. And man, it is HARD. I was hungry afterward for snacks and the stores where I live close quite early. Let me tell you, I have never raided my cupboards so hard! And the ONLY thing I could find with no added sugars was popcorn.
Yeah, I didn't think it through before deciding to just... not eat sugar for a while. But we went shopping when we could. But here is the kicker. I made pre mixed cookies for the kids yesterday and in the midst of baking, I ate a whole handful of chocolate chips. Because they never put enough in.
And then cleaning up the kitchen... I found a bottle of Coke that I forgot that I bought. Now Coke is a problem for me. I used to drink 6L a day. Then I cut it out for a few months. Then, because I don't drink coffee, I needed something to help me with energy through out the day. So now I drink a little bit every now and again. Buuuuttt, I still struggle pretty hard with pop. THAT BURN IS JUST SO RIGHTEOUS.
That soda pop is still unopened in the fridge!
I fell off eating those chocolate chips, so I had a cookie too. But on the fourth day on the road to no sugar for a few weeks, a slip on the third day, I actually feel pretty good. I didn't even have a nap this morning. I just have to keep telling myself that I am only human, and a slip up doesn't equate to a fail.
WHY am I wanting to cut sugar? You can read about that here.
And as an update on my KonMarie doings. The clothes are sorted into what belongs to who. So now they just need to be gone through and organized into my dress up clothes and every day clothes, and for the kids, what fits and what doesn't. It's not much after 4 days, but it is PROGRESS. And I'm pleased.
Little prairie spitfire, hoping to bring you some positivity and feist.
